Alex Honnold free solo in El Sendero Luminoso (7c+/15SL) [Video]

Das Jahr 2014 begann Alex Honnold mit einem seiner ehrgeizigsten und auch wohl eindrucksvollsten Free Solo Begehungen in der Klettergeschichte. Nachdem TNF Teamkollege Cedar Wright nach Mexiko nachkam, um Alex beim Ausbouldern und putzen der 15 Seillängen zu helfen, ging alles recht schnell. Die beiden kletterten die Route gerade vier Mal, bis Alex Honnold alleine und ohne Gurt einstieg.

Cedar Wright meint im Outside Magazin folgendes….

“I climbed the route four times with Alex, and each time I was struck by how complex and tenuous the climbing is,” Wright says. “There are hundreds of hand and foot moves to remember, and at times it’s just a few millimeters of your fingers and toes that are keeping you connected to the wall. Mostly I just tried not to think about him soloing the route while I was up there because it was so terrifying.”
