News aus den Rocklands mit Daniel Woods, Rudi Moroder, Paul Robinson, Nalle Hukkataival und Co. [Shortnews]

Seit den letzten Shortnews sind schon ein paar Wochen ins Land gezogen. Zum einen müssen wir durchaus zugeben, dass uns die Temperaturen nicht gerade für 9a-Wiederholungen begeistert haben, und zum anderen war im August nicht arg so viel los. Und wenn was los war — naja, böse gesagt — stellte Jan Hojer mit seinem Rocklands-Streifzug alles in den Schatten.

Da aber die Big Island Crew auch den ein oder anderen Boulder geklettert bzw. erstbegangen hat, bekommt ihr in aller Kürze  eine kleine Übersicht, was da in den letzten Wochen in Südafrika los war.

don’t believe the hype – rocklands sucks!!! you have to pay to go climbing, it can rain for days, holds breake all the time and ruin your project, climbing is sharp like hell and you will look out for gloves the first day you arrive (if you have not the skin of an olifant), everything looks super cool, but the climbing can be really tweaky, painful, morpho and just not nearly as good as its looking, it can be so windy and cold you think you arrived at the southpol instead of africa, it’s crowded like your home-town climbing gym on a tuesday evening in february and you have to queue up for a classic problem more then once, people scream around not just while climbing (what I do sometimes as well, and I feel (sometimes) sorry for that) but also just while „chilling“ at the rocks… boulderers shit in front of boulders – WTF???!!! …weiterlesen…

Philipe Ribiere taucht leider viel zu selten auf Seiten wie unserer auf. Denn auch wenn er nicht gerade High-End-Linien wegdrückt, hat er zum Kletter und Leben die richtige Einstellung. Wir haben ihn schon öfters beim Bouldern getroffen und es ist schon erstaunlich ihn in echt beim Klettern zu sehen. Lange Worte wenig Sinn. Philipe war in den Rocklands und hatte die Kamera dabei. Fui Spaß beim Schauen.
